I see there is only one person from the super 15's in the 'b' are the other 5 players not good enough or is there another reason why they were not chossen, given the they have years of experience in these type matches |

No matter who is selected, faults will be found. The B Team gives opportunities to guys that have never experienced this type of competition. There are probably a few teams of good players like yourselves who have not been selected. Unless there is a set selection criteria many good players will never achieve being picked for super league events.
We all can appreciate what you are saying George, however, the players that have been picked are representing Central Ayrshire, in my opinon one of the weakest selection, considering James Kean, Paul Young etc are not involved, you wouldn't get the Scotland captains of B1 & B2 selcting players that were not of a standard to compete in any competition, also maybe there should a selection criteria, food for thought at the next captains meeting or AGM. |

At the end of the day its the same as any team, whether its a pub team superleague team or otherwise, every captain has their favourites and the players they want to play on regular basis that will never change no matter how many trials or bounce games you have. If you were to bring in a criteria for selecting a team then there would be no need for a captain as results would pick the team and that wouldnt work as you'd have a captain with players they sometimes wouldnt be happy with. Its a double edge sword and you'll never keep everyone happy!!!

I am basing the 'B' team captains selection on players that have not been chossen but played in the recent super 15's, and that were never asked to play in the 11's, not automactic i know, but these said player have played under various captains not for there popularity but for their ability, we all know everyone has to have a chance to play in these events, but as i said before lets compete, not just give ten or so players a weekend away. |

Any reason why the Scottish U18 champion for the past 2 years is in neither team?
I presume he was asked and cant attend?

With all the speculation, why hasn't the captain of the 'b' not came on hear and explained why he has picked this team, maybe its because he plays for the Snooker club and has some new friends ( five players) and he thinks that justifys a place in the county 'b' team, I dont know but there are a lot of people confused and disappointed with his selection |

I along with other members of my team have been selected for the county B team and as has been raised on here, some people are not very happy about it. I can not do anything about that and when asked to play I was delighted to accept.
I was part of the team that tried to qualify for the super 15's back in November and failed to get through to that event, I can tell you now I along with the rest of the guy's were absolutely gutted and knew we had missed out on what was an excellent tournament.
I understand that the guy's who did not make the A team or B team are obviously gutted but you have to look at the bigger picture, a captain is put in place to pick the team he want's to pick not just on skill set but also merit as well. I went to the qualifier for the 15's and won 4 out of 5 does that make me more or less deserving than someone who did not do so well yet is a better player than me?
The point I'm making is that there are so many different ways to look at these things and it is not always simply black and white. The 5 guy's you are talking about who have been selected from the snooker club went to the super 15's qualifier and performed well, we did not get through as a team I know but individually they did there bit and I think shamoe feels they deserve a chance to show what they can do in the tournament itself.
I can assure you of one thing and I can only speak for myself when saying this, I'm not going for a "weekend away" as you put it or a piss up either for that matter. I'm going to play for 11 other guy's and I will be trying my guts out to help get us as far as possible in this competition.
If you do not agree with myor anyone else's selection then I'm sorry but until you get some sort of definitive selection process (e.g. qualifying through the player of the year standings for instance) then the captain's will always have this at their sole discretion. |

Are visitors allowed to attend this event. It would be nice to support the teams and enjoy the competition.
Dont see why not George, would like to hear what people think of the standard of Central Ayrshire pool League, and as shamoe said its an opportunity for other people to get involved. |

Would be a lot stronger if Rab 'the crab' Watson was in it. He's better than most players in the b team.

Of course it will, cause all the players that played on Friday nights friendly are not really confident in their ability, are they!! |

I have written a we song for the super league teams. It's sang to the tune Men of Harlech.
Chorus; Ayrshire Central stand yea steady,
have your pool cues at the ready,
Other league teams best be wary,
We will never yield.
Nae many pretty faces,
But we have all the aces,
A and B teams will unite,
We're up there for a bloody fight.
Repeat Chorus,
Central Ayrshire stand yea steady,
have your pool cues at the ready,
other leage teams best be wary,
we will never yield.
X-Factor auditions in Glasgow next month George.

The b team of course, the A team dont need it, the final was an anti climac after the lift the b team got by beating Beattie;s make shift team. |
